Global Day of Ali Asghar - Infant Martyred in Ashura

Every year, at the first Friday of Muharram, Shia Muslims commemorate the Global day of Ali Asghar (AS). Yesterday was the first Friday of Muharram and Iranian Shia as well as other Shia throughout the world, marked this international day.
Abdullah Ali al-Asghar ibn Husayn or simply Ali Asghar (d. 10 Muharram 61 AH (10 October 680 CE)) was the youngest child of Imam Hussein ibn Ali (grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and the third Shia Imam) and Rubab (daughter of the chief of the Kinda Imra al-Qays tribe). The six month old Ali Asghar was killed during the Battle of Karbala and is commemorated in Shia as the "personified quintessence of the innocent victim".
The following are some photos from the Global day of Ali Asghar in Iran during Muharram 2016.

Self Flagellation in Ashura?

Every time I look at Google for the word Ashura or Ashoora, I see lots of bloody photos of people who are flagellating themselves with chains of blades, sword, knife or other sharp metal things! Now the question is that:

Is Self Flagellation in Ashura Legal in Shia Religion?

Is this the truth about Shia and Ashura? That means do all the Shia Muslims flagellate themselves during Ashura? It seems so crazy and unbelievable, since that I am a Shia Muslim and I never did it and never see somebody flagellate himself in our Shia cities during my life! So why Google shows these Images in its first page and why it never filters them while they contain violent and rough images.

Answer is so clear. Google doesn't like Shia thoughts to be spread throughout the world. Google is under supervision of Zionists and it is not acceptable for them that the religion of resistance, Shia, which is against Israel (Hizbullah, Iran, Yemen, Syria, Iraq) has a good face in Google results! So it shows images of Hindu men that believe in No Pain, No Gain and mutilate themselves in Muharram procession!
Self Mutilation in Ashura! Forbidden in Shia
What Western Media and Google See for Ashura.
Most of those people flagellating themselves are Hindu, not Shia! Self-flagellation is forbidden in Shia according to Fatwas of their grand Ayatollahs like Ali Khamenei and Ali Sistani ( see http://Tatbir.org )

Reason of Imam Hussein's Revolution in Ashura

What is the reason of Imam Hussein revolution?

Shia Truth: reason of Imam Hussein's uprising against Yazid - Ashura Truth Imam Hussein (as) introduced some reasons of his uprising in a testament letter to his brother Muhammad Hanafiah:
I did not come out seeking to do evil, nor seeking to have fun, nor seeking corruption nor oppression. Rather, I came out seeking reform in the nation of my Grandfather. I want to enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong.

Lessons from Imam Hussein and Ashura

Shia Truth - Lessons from Imam Hussein and Ashura
Some lessons from Imam Hussein and Ashura

What is Ashura and Who is Imam Hussein?

Ashura is the tenth day of Muharram (the first month of the Islamic calendar). On this day, in more than 14 centuries ago and in a place called Karbala which is now in Iraq, Imam Hussain who was the 3'rd Imam of Shia Muslims and the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) along with many of his family members and all of his companions sacrificed their lives in order to save the teachings of Islam from utter distortion and destruction. Shia Muslims do not fast on this day. They dress in black and take to the streets and mosques on this day to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Prophet Muhammad’s grandson, Imam Hussein (PBUH) who is remembered as the symbol of freedom and dignity. Imam rose up against the tyrant of the time, Yazid, and was martyred after rejecting allegiance to him.
In the battle of Karbala, Imam Hussein and his companions were encircled by an army of 30,000 which decapitated martyrs and ran over bodies with horses.
Yazid’s army then plundered tents of Imam Hussein’s family and burned them. Then, they moved girls and women along heads of the martyrs to Yazid’s court.

Imam Hussein and Heart of Believers - Hadith of Prophet

صلی الله علیک یا اباعبدالله الحسین

Another Muharram (2015) came to us and thanks Allah for that we can again mourn for Imam Hussein (as) and his oppressed companions. May Allah accept our Azadari and write our names in the list of lovers of the AhleBayt of the prophet.

Hadith of Prophet(pbuh) about Imam Hussein(as)
The prophet (PBUH) looked Hussein (as) while he was in front of him, so he sat on his knee and said: Verily the killing of Hussein makes a fire in the hearts of believers that never shuts down.

Arbaeen - million march towards Hussein

Arbaeen is the 40th day after Ashura in which Imam Hussein (as) and his companions martyred. In Arbaein, due to some historical documents, Imam Sajjad (AS), Hazrat Zeinab (the sister of Imam Hussein), and some other relatives of the Imam, came back to Karbala and mourned for Imam and other martyrs of the Ashura.
After Saddam, walking to Karbala was released. Since then, every year, millions of Shia Muslims from all over the world travel to Karbala, the holy city of Iraq, to commemorate the religious ceremony of Arbaeen, the 40th day after the martyrdom of the third Shia Imam.
The walk from Najaf to Karbala is one of the most enlightening acts of worship a pilgrim can perform. The suffering and hardship imposed on the family of Imam Hussain (as) and the grandchildren of Prophet Muhammad (s) is felt in every step, and thus the love and respect for this holy family increases in the heart of the believer with every step that is taken towards the holy land of Karbala.
The following video from AhlulBayt TV is an interview with people dealing with the event of Arbaeen 2013 in Iraq:

On Arbaeen 2013 about 18 Millions pilgrims walked from Najaf to Karbala. Nowadays Iraqi People are preparing for Arbaeen 2014 on December 13.

Shia Opinion About Self-Mutilation in Ashura

Unfortunately some minorities of Shia around the world, specially in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, mourn in the day of Ashura in Muharram in such a way that no sane person can confirm it. They harm themselves with some type of blades and say that we love Imam Hussein!
Every year, hundreds of photos of these ceremonies are distributed over the web and if someone, unfamiliar with Shia believes, saw these pictures, he may think: o damn!, what an unconscionable religion!

However, almost all grand Ayatollahs of Shia prohibited these type of mourning. For example, Imam Khamenei, about 20 years ago said:

Tatbir is one of the wrong doings. I know some will say: “It would have been proper if he had not talked about Tatbir.” They will say: “What do you have to do with Tatbir? Some people practice it, let them do so!” No! One cannot remain silent towards such a wrong action.
It is wrong that some people hold daggers and hit themselves on the head to bleed. What are they seeking?! How can this be an act of mourning?! Of course hitting on the head with one’s hands is a sign of mourning. You have seen it several times that when people face suffering, they hit on their chests and heads. This is a typical symbol of mourning. But where have you ever seen a person who is suffering from the loss of a dear one, hit on their head with a dagger and make it bleed?! How can this be a form of mourning?
#Tatbir [#QameZani] is a fabricated tradition. It is among the issues that does not belong to the religion and undoubtedly God is not also pleased with such a practice.
The more I thought about it, the more truly I realized I cannot overlook informing our dear people about Tatbir- which is certainly an act of wrongdoing and a heresy. Do not practice it! I do not approve of it. If someone does something to pretend that they want to practice Tatbir, I will be truly dissatisfied with them. I am declaring this solemnly.
Ayatollah #Khamenei, June 07, 1994
#ImamHussain
Tatbir is forbidden in Shia
Do not flagellate yourself during Ashura and Muharram

This act, that is well-supported by western news channels like BBC, CNN and others, is also prohibited in Quran:
And spend in the way of Allah and do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction. And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good.

Ashura 2014 in Iran

In Muharram 2014, Supreme leader of Iran held some Majalis in his Husseiniye. In these meetings, some prominent Shia mullah speaks about Ashura uprising and scarifices of Imam Hussein and his companions. Then he talks about disasters imposed on Hussein (AS), his followers, women and daughters and people cry on these sorrows. After this, a Maddah sings some poetry and people mourn for Imam Hossein and his companions in Karbala. Typical Mourning in Iran is striking on chest with hands, known as SinehZani. Some other types of mourning like Tatbir (Self-mutilation, Flagellation or GhameZani) which may be seen in other countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan and India are forbidden in Iran, due to the Fatwa of Imam Khamenei.
The following photos are taken in the day of Ashura 2014 in Beyte-Rahbari (Husseiniye of Imam Khomeini in Iran):
